Hazmat Incident in the 32-01

Shortly after 2:30 Stations 32 and 31 were alerted to a report of a Chlorine leak in the 600 block of Stracksdam Road.

PT32 and R31 made the response. With the additional information the Lebanon County Hazmat Team was requested to the scene along with E31 for additional manpower and, EMS from 140.

Units arrived and spoke with workers on scene who identified a possible leak in the Chlorine room with a slight odor in the area.

Hazmat Duty Officer arrived soon after adding their mutual aid partners in R2 ( Campbelltown ) and QRS6 (Bellegrove) for manpower and rehab respectively. Hazmat team created a plan with their members making entry, and fire personnel acting as Rapid Intervention Team and Decontamination. Hazmat team made entry and were able to identify the leak was no longer active and mitigated any hazards.

Crews remained on scene ventilating and monitoring before clearing.

Crews operated for 4 hours on scene.
